Every year, we are contacted by many runners who have to defer their participation due to injuries sustained in the last couple of months of training.
An assessment by one of our experts may identify problems before you develop an injury that could jeopardise your participation in the marathon.
In conjunction with a detailed assessment of your underlying structure (Biomechanics) we perform Inshoe and video gait analysis.
Video analysis allows us to assess your basic function and your running shoes. Where appropriate, we can compare different running shoes.
In-shoe pressure analysis enables us to accurately determine the way your feet function within your shoes by using special insoles with force sensors, the same technology as used by NASA and Nike. It also allows accurate assessment of any orthoses / insoles you have previously been provided. A basic assessment with this system requires 30 minutes.
Where a more detailed analysis using both the video and Inshoe pressure system is required, a 45- 90 minute appointment is required. This is our preferred option for gait analysis especially if a detailed gait analysis (i.e. assessment of varying shoes, orthoses and activities) is necessary. This is particularly suitable for complex cases and high level/professional sports people.
